I fell in love with this industrial building turned private residence thanks to the Minnehaha neighborhood tour guided by Ian and Kelly Stade. Ian is the brains behind Hennepin County Library Tumblr.

A huge benefit for this urban hiker is that taking photos like this is now just a part of my normal work day. I have been back at the U of M for one month and I’m loving it!

Minneapolis should have signs like this that read “Live Downtown” as city leaders strive to double the number of residents (2025 plan).

Today I took a tour of Guthrie Theater with the East Downtown Council. I highly suggest you do this!  The Events calendar has a “tours” tab so you can quickly find a date and time that works for you. I’m going to do this with all of my out-of-town guests.

Waiting at the Lake Street bus stop on I-35 is a bit scary at first. At least there’s a great view of downtown Minneapolis!

University of Minnesota Academic Health Center is my new workplace. Today was my first day and I can’t wait to explore all that University and surrounding neighborhoods have to offer.
